ORIGINAL UNRESTORED PAIR OF GARDEN GATES “WILMSLOW” OUR REFERENCE – JD3011 19/G23 – 77” Wide / Pair
A pair of very ornate wrought iron gates, these are very old and very heavy. The outer frame is 2”/50mm wide and it made from wrought iron NOT steel. The scroll design features handmade springs, some of which have deteriorated, please look at the picture closely.
In generally good condition, they are useable as they stand but they would definitely benefit from a visit to a competent forge or metal worker for expert repair and restoration. Please look at the photos carefully to ascertain the condition of the gates, as they form a vital part of the description.
No additional hardware comes with the gates, only what is shown in the photos. We can recommend a local foundry that could make up whatever fittings you require to use the gates in your particular scenario.
The size suggests a possible use as driveway gates, but some of our clients have used gates like these to make a backdrop for climbing plants or make a feature against a plain wall.
