Offered for sale is a pair of heavy decorative steel gates featuring a heavy frame with the words \u201cThe Den\u201d mounted on the top. The design is ornate with each gate quartered diagonally with lots of curlicues to fill in the gaps.<\/p>\n
In stable unrestored condition, they would definitely benefit from a good wire brushing and a new coat of paint. The bottoms of the gates have more rust on them than the tops. The LH gate has some distortion along the inside edge where they close, which would need to be sorted by a specialist before refinishing – see pics<\/p>\n
Please look at the photos carefully to ascertain the condition of the gates, as they form a vital part of the description.<\/p>\n
There is a central handle on one gate which would need to be freed up before use.<\/p>\n
No additional hardware comes with the gates, only what is shown in the photos. Most DIY or hardware shops can provide fixing kits for gates, or a local foundry could make up whatever fittings you require to use the gates in your particular scenario.<\/p>\n
