S28 “ARAN” ANTIQUE TERRACOTTA URN PLANTER

In fair condition, made of terracotta with some cement repairs to the rim, marks and minor damage where it has been used. It has a nice age to it (and remnants of a previous owners white paint.)
We believe this to be very old, as it is made from terracotta, whilst later versions tend to be made from reconstructed stone or concrete !
The level of detail on this urn is very nice with the egg and dart rim, to the four shells decorating the base. No manufacturer’s mark that we could see, and the small repairs have kept this to a realistic price, but we only have one !
I have photographed it from various angles and included a shot of the underside so you can get a feel of the style and condition
Strange metal rod sticking out from the middle of the bowl, below the level where the earth would come, not sure what function it served, but we left it as we found it !
